Tim Pawlenty thinks President Obama is America’s naïve mistake. The former Minnesota Governor set the tone of tonight’s Republican National Convention proceedings with sharp criticism of the president’s first term.
“I’ve come to realize that Barack Obama is the tattoo president. Like a big tattoo, it seemed cool when you were young,” he said. “But later on, that decision doesn’t look so good, and you wonder what was I thinking?”
Pawlenty was one of the speakers preceding Congressman Paul Ryan’s official acceptance of the vice-presidential nomination. He was once considered to be in the running to become Romney’s running mate. But it’s no secret that the Minnesotan politician is now supporting Ryan. Pawlenty even made fun of the current vice-president’s cancelled plans to speak in Tampa this week.
“I hear Joe’s particularly interested in tonight’s proceedings. He even thought about coming here to Tampa,” he said. “And he’s taking notes because when Paul Ryan speaks, Joe will finally get to hear what a real vice president sounds like!”
Pawlenty says Romney and Ryan will be the solution for the economic problems created by President Obama and Vice-President Biden.
