The gap between Labor and the Coalition has fallen over the last few days. However, Labor has maintained a substantial gap on the TPP vote.
Newspoll 2022: How does it compare with 2019?
There are two major differences
- The dotted lines (TPP Vote) kept narrowing at this point in 2019. The gap in the TPP vote was just 3%
- The Coalition was ahead or on par in all the polls in April and May
Newspoll missed the TPP results by 3% points. If Newspoll repeats the error, the election is likely to end in a tie and independents will play a critical role in Government formation.
