Google Search, Abbott likely to win big today. The Gap between Abbott and West was much lesser yesterday than it was today on election day.

The Incumbent governor of Texas, Gregg Abbott is running for re-election. He has been Governor of Texas since 2014. The Texas primary election is scheduled for November 8, 2022, however, before the state goes for election, the citizens of Texas will be casting their votes for selecting the candidates of the respective party who will be running for the Office of Governor on November 8th.
The Gubernatorial Primaries will be held on March 1, 2022, with a run-off election scheduled for May 24. Allen West and Don Huffines have emerged as strong challengers to Greg Abbot while for the Democrat Beto O’Rourke is predicted to win the Primary race.

Greg Abbott is comfortably ahead of both Don Huffines and Allen West as per the polls. The latest poll by Emerson College conducted between Feb 21-22 gives Greg Abbot around 50 points leads over his nearest competitor, Allen West. Abbott has been ahead of both the candidates by over 50% in almost all the polls.

In the last 24 hours, the interest level of Don Huffines has dramatically seen an increase. Greg Abbott is still ahead of all his challengers in both polls and Google Trend data but the way there has been rise in interest level of Don Huffines, if this translates into votes, we can expect the fight to be a close one.

The polls clearly show Bete O’Rourke is maintaining a massive lead over all the Democratic candidates. None of the candidates challenging Bete O’Rourke are able to cross the 5% vote share as per the polls.
Texas Primary Polls 2022: Few Things to Know Before Voting
- On March 1st, the voting for Texas Primary polls will begin at 7AM and close at 7PM the local time.
- Voter in Texas can vote in person now.
- The voters away from county on voting day or the ones who are sick or disabled can vote by mail.
- However, only those voters who have submitted the application for vote by mail before February 18, 2022 will be eligible to vote by mail.
- The mail-in ballots to be considered for counting should be received by 5PM on March 3.
NOTE: The Texas Primary Polls 2022 is the first poll to be conducted under new voting rules. The rules include furnishing ID proofs for mail-in votes. Elimination of drive-through voting and limiting early voting hours.

Greg Abbott
- Current Governor of Texas
- Served as a member of the Texas Supreme Court from 1996 to 2001.
- Also Served as 50th attorney general of Texas from 2002 to 2015.
- Endorsed by the former President of USA, Donald Trump.
Don Huffines
- He is an American politician and businessman from the state of Texas.
- Don Huffines co-owns and operates Huffines Communities, a real estate development company in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
- Huffines represented District 16 in the Texas Senate from 2015 to 2019.
- On May 10, 2021, Huffines announced that he would challenge Abbott in the 2022 Republican primary for governor of Texas.
Allen West
- Allen West is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel.
- He has represented Florida’s 22nd congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2011 to 2013.
- Allen West has served as the chairman of the Republican Party of Texas from 2020 to 2021.
- On July 4, 2021, West announced he would challenge incumbent Greg Abbott for the Republican nomination.
